Competition

My take on competition is that competition is a very intricate subject. Competition is the act of competing. Competition can be traced back to its first major event in 776 BC where the Greeks held their first Olympics in Athens, Greece. The first modern version of the Olympics was held in Athens, Greece, 1896. As the Olympics have evolved to what they are today they are still in my mind and in many others the top of the line for competing in a sport. In my own terms I believe that competition is were a certain number of participants (depending on what it is) go head to head against each other to ultimately win. Now today come a whole new era for competitive games. Ranging from video games like COD (Call Of Duty) and Csgo (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) to the World cup and March Madness (College Basketball Tournament) and even solving a rubicks cube. In other words competition has evolved from sports to almost everything. Now myself I like to think that I am and am not competitive at certain things. Like in sports I am because I really enjoy it and have a passion for it. One example is when  take martial arts. I have a black belt in Krav Maga and really take it seriously because I love it and enjoy it so when I am sparring (fighting) with someone I do not want to lose. But when it comes to who can run the fastest I can not be bothered because i know I am not fast and do not really care about it. In conclusion competition is a very interesting subject and I take part in it and consider my self to be competitive and not competitive.

Warriors

So......
This is a new topic on my blog. But it has to do with a Spartan in Draymond Green. He plays on the Golden State Warriors. This year the GSW are 53 wins and 5 loses. Big DG this year has almost averaged a double double and very close to a triple double. He is averaging 13.8 ppg, 9.7 rpg, and 7.4 apg. This is very good especially for a big man. He plays the position of PF (power forward or 4). Now on the other hand GSW played last night and won barely in OT. This was due to one reason in my opinion was Chef Curry being out for part of the game. During the game Russel Westbrook fell on his leg and he was pulled out and then made his return and forcing the game to overtime and then ultimately wining the game. Also the season is coming to a close so I wanted to touch off on my early prediction and that is obliviously GSW.
So until next time, Warriors Pride.

Today

MSU played a game against Penn state. The game was at home for the Spartans. In the first half alone MSU scored 52 points. That is a lot and I mean a lot for just one half. Also while only holding Penn state to 27. This was a bit less of what they scored in the second half. In the second half PSU scored 30 points. While MSU finished with 88 points. The final score was 88-57. It was a pretty good game. My player of the game was Matt Costello, MSU's center, had a double double. What that is when you get two stats in double figures, example 10 points and 11 rebounds. That was the stat line Costello had during today's game. All in all that's another win in the books for the Spartans and one game closer to a Big 10 Championship. Now my next blog will be about the NBA in specific the Golden State Warriors.

March Maddness

NOW comes the end of FEBRUARY AND HERE COMES MARCH, and all of its MADNESS. Now that the month of love is over comes the month of BASKETBALL. With March comes one thing for B-ball fans, Its the tourney of the year, the decade, wait no OF ALL ETERNITY! But for real it is the best tournament across all sports minus the world cup. This year MSU will probably be a top 5 seed team. Going into the tourney what all Spartans will hope for is MSU being the Big 10 champs after their conference tournament. With being champs in the conference it might bump them up to a top 3 seed maybe even a 1 seed if they get placed with weaker teams not like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, or any other major team. Hopefully they make a good run and this years March Madness can be as great as ever.

Coming to a close..

All in all both main sports seasons are coming to a close. Football season ended already and we know MSU made a good run but lost in the semifinals. Sadly this year they lose Connor Cook and Burbridge. But... this year they get a pretty good recruiting class. I don't know who it is yet but I know it will be good. Another thing is that the basketball season is almost over. With both sports coming to a close and both teams losing players I am looking forward to see what Mark Dantonio and Tom Izzo are going do with the new class. Also I am looking forward to both drafts to see where MSU players are going to for their pro careers. But looking back at the season there is one thing that I want to mention. This year's MSU vs. Maryland game had the uniforms of the year for me between the two teams. But as I leave this season to go to the next,
May The Spartan follow you!

The Season :( and :)

So... How the season going you ask. Well its not horrible but not Amazing. The season started with a Tourney win (which was talked about in my last blog) and an undefeated season until Denzel Valentine got injured and Big Ten play started. MSU has lost twice to Iowa while number one and not in addition they have two more losses so they have four on the season. At the moment MSU is 12 with a 17-4 record which isn't bad because they are most likely moving up with wins this week. So hopefully they are int he top 10. Now that conference play has started Iowa is number one with one lose to Maryland which MSU has beaten with their one and only meeting this year so hopefully MSU can seal more wins and the other top teams in the conference lose. All in all the season is coming to a close and March Madness is coming. So until next time I wish the Spartans good luck and all the other teams Shun Shun Shun.

My Experience

This blog is going to my experience going to a NCAA tournament. Over the Thanksgiving break I went with my Dad to the  John Wooden Classic. John Wooden was an american b-ball player and coach. At the top of the tournament was MSU and Arizona. Other opponents in the tourney were Bosie State, UC Irvine, Boston College, Providence, Santa Clara, and Evansville. The tourney started off with everyone playing. Winners play winners and losers play losers. One team will go 3-0, others will either go 2-1 or 1-2, and finally one team will go 0-3. When we arrived we thought we had assigned seats.... turns out we could sit court side! This was amazing because every time one team ran to the other side of the floor we were on the TV! On the first day MSU played BU (Boston College) The game ended with MSU MURDERING BU. In addition I caught an ESPN tee shirt. On the second day the same thing happend with MSU creaming them. In addition I got a pic with Draymond Green. All in all the trip was amazing and I couldn't ask for anymore. And that was my experience at an NCAA Tourney.
